Blue Spruce Design & Photo was founded in 2002 by Ruth Lowell of Pownal, Maine.

I hold a B.A. degree in Art and Journalism, with an emphasis in Photography. I graduated in 1997 from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky.

For five years, I worked as an editor for Wintergreen Orchard House, an imprint of Houghton Mifflin Company. I also fulfilled design and photography projects for local businesses.

In 2002, the Maine office of Wintergreen Orchard House was closed. At that time I started Blue Spruce Design and Photo, becoming self-employed.

I currently work from my home in Pownal. I have a wonderful husband, Jamie Lowell, and a delightful son, Nathanael (born September 2005).
